Virus Scanning Information and Ccleaner

If your computer is running slow or inefficiently or you think you might have a virus, there are a few programs you can run that may help clean things up a bit:

Virus Scanning


  1. Install Malwarebytes

  2. Open up the program

  3. Go to scan (update anything if it asks you for permission)

  4. Scan can take up to 1 hour

  5. Once scan is complete be sure to remove and or quarantine anything it found

  6. Computer may need to restart to fully remove the files

  1. Install Ccleaner

  2. Open the program

  3. Click “Run CCCleaner”

  4. In the Applications tab uncheck “Internet History” (this is optional)

  5. Click “Analyze”

  6. Once the analysis is complete hit “Run Cleaner” - this will delete trash files

  7. You will get a pop-up window asking if you are sure you want to delete the files. Click “OK”

  1. In order to remove some “tracking cookies” from your computer, you may have to close your internet browser.

  2. If this is the case, you will get a pop-up menu asking if you want CCCleaner to close your Internet browser. Click “Yes” to continue

  3. On the left, click on “Registry”

  4. Click on “Scan for Issues”

  5. Then once that is done, click on “Fix selected issues”

  6. It will ask to make a backup but there is no need to, so click “No”

  7. Then select “Fix All Selected Issues” and “Close”

  8. The scan is complete and you can close out of the program
